Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters on Tuesday that Thatcher Demko's current injury is not the same one that limited him to 51 appearances this season. Demko did not appear to injure himself in Sunday's Game 1 win – the first home playoff victory at Rogers Arena since 2015 – but he was not seen or heard from after the game.

During the regular season, Demko posted a record of 35-14-2 with a 2.45 goals-against average, .918 save percentage, and five shutouts in 51 games played. Despite the injury concern, Tocchet expressed confidence that Demko will be ready to play this weekend. The Canucks are set to face the Edmonton Oilers in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series on Friday night.
